DEALER PROCEDURES

The Elephant's Trunk is adjacent to a residential zone. For this reason, we request dealers be sensitive to this fact. This sensitivity includes no dealer noise in the morning, no honking of horns, and absolutely no selling until you are on the exhibitors' field. It is the dealer's responsibility to abide by the rules. Failure to do so will result in your exclusion from this market.

The parking lot opens to dealers at 4:45 a.m. and the exhibitor fields open at 5:00 a.m. The fee is collected once you are in line in the parking lot. Exact change is appreciated. You will be placed in the next available space. No spaces may be saved by dealers, nor may dealers choose where they want to go. This is a mixed field and we do not segregate merchandise. The $40 fee entitles two people to enter in the vehicle.

There are two dealer entrances at The Elephant's Trunk. Entrance "A" is for reserved dealers and Entrance "B" is for non-reserved dealers. Reserved dealers are those who have paid monthly and have the same space weekly. They are dealers who have been loyal to this flea market for years, and, because of this, they have a reserved space. Reserved spaces are renewed yearly and cannot be transferred. Reserved dealers enter through Gate "A" from 5:00-6:30 a.m. each Sunday. All other dealers enter through Gate "B". Dealers interested in a reserved space may see Greg, wearing the pink hat, for further details.

Once your day is over, all dealers must be off the field by 3:30 p.m. It is expected that you will take your garbage home with you. Furthermore, dealers are to clean their spaces before leaving. Failure to clean your space may result in additional fees or your exclusion from the market. Please help us to keep the field in tip-top shape. Thank you!

The market has established rules and guidelines-- the expectation is that they will be followed. This is for everyone's benefit, and comes as a result of being in this business for 31 years.

Finally, it is important that dealers provide the public with certain information. All merchandise must be priced, and, if requested, a receipt should be given.

You must have a written, visual RETURN POLICY. Please know that we want the public to return weekly, so it's important everyone is treated respectfully and honestly. In addition, your Connecticut Resale Number must be visually displayed. Tax can be included in the price or added on-- that is your choice.
